CaddaBling
Hey guys, what kind of gas mileage are you all getting with your northstars? I have a 2001 Seville SLS, and I seem to be getting like 16 mpg around town. Not sure about highway yet since I haven't had it on the open road yet. On my display, it never says over 16.2 average mpg. My neighbor has a 2005 deville (300hp) and his digital display says 21mpg average. is 16 mpg normal around town with a 2001 SLS (it isn't the 300hp motor). The car only has 58000 miles. Thanks! JasonA
16 mpg sounds low with an SLS, especially for the flat lands and mild climate of FL. Mine gets 20/30. Have you done the first-checks, like tire pressure, adjusting driving style, etc? Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" Scotty
That sounds right, I have been getting between 16 and 19 with mixed driving and about 25 on the highway. On another front, I have a friend that works at Coastal Cadillac in Port Richie. He specializes in front ends if I am not mistaken. If you are interested email me and I will send you the information, Mike

OynxSTS
If you drive these cars hard you can almost push the city milage into the single digit range... The first week I got my '02 I was getting 11.8 MPG City... Expect mileage at this level if you WOT at EVERY opportunty! I have calmed down a a fair bit since then 18 City 28 Highway (City AC on Highway AC off) Easin' down the highway in a new Cadillac, I had a fine fox in front, I had three more in the back ZZTOP, I'm Bad I'm Nationwide Greg
tom karen
I guess I don't have anything to complain about. Took a 3,000 plus mile trip up north in July and on the interstates at 75 pus we were getting 26 MPG actual. The computer usually reads a little higher but on a trip we figure it out ourselves. Anything above that speed the mileage goes away pretty fast. Around town and when the wife uses it for work it is usually 21 or 22. Also have a 3 liter Ford Ranger and the best it can do is 20 to20. Go figure.

CaddaBling
Hey Scotty, thanks for the input. That is great I live in New Port Richey, that is about 6 miles from Coastal Cadillac in Port Richey. Any helpful info you can send me about your friend would be greatly appreciated. The car has a great warranty right now for another 5 years or 42000 miles, but it is good to know people. Thanks again man! Mike

Hey kevinrea, Nice, clean looking Eldo! Welcome to the board! Enjoy the car! I get right around 19 to 21 MPH with my '94 Eldo for a mix of city and freeway driving. That seems to confirm what the others are reporting. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
CaddaBling
Hi Jadcock, I do have my tires maxed out on pressure at 44psi cold, I baby it when driving, I hardly punch it at all. I guess I will have to deal with about 16 mpg around town. I am sure it will probably do well on the highway, but haven't had it on a trip yet. Thanks man. blunted
I'm only gettin 10 mpg in the city.. I thought it would improve after I got a burnt out coil replaced but it still sucks. I do have a little lead foot but 10 mpg is way overkill. Sometimes I get a little rotten egg smell, but its only once in a while.. starting to think my catalytic converter is dying. Scotty
A rotten egg smell can be caused by a rich mixture. Check for codes. You may have a leaky injector. Try a small and I mean small container of Chevron Techron.
Chris
I have averaged 19.2mpg since I started keeping track around 7000km ago 1993 STS with ~220 000km on the clock. CaddaBling
Hi Scotty, thanks for giving me Joe Jaconi's name. I will ask for him for sure when I have to bring the car in. Which will be real soon. I have a few things that need to be fixed. Take care Bro. Mike
