EO46-Right to Left Bank Fueling Difference

I checked all the grounds-OK. I changed out the distributor the other day and the car now will rev freely past 4000 rpm without shuting down, no tach jump either. But I still have a miss. Now at least I have a code that is EO46-Right to Left Bank Fueling Difference. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Thanks,

TJ

Thanks Scotty!!!

If it is the injectors I have an extra set that have been off an engine about 18 months. Any problem using these? Anything I should do (soak, pretest some how) before I put them in?

I don't know the answer to that, but I am sure they will be fine, if they have been dry, don't jump the gun however. If you send me an email address I will send you the diagnostic tree... in the morning, I need to hit the hay...

You can do a Power Balance Test to isolate what cylinder it is... If you have a miss, its possible that an injector is NOT working or pouring gas, this can go either way. Do you have black smoke out of the exhaust, that would indicate a rich mixture.

In lieu of doing the power balance test, on the 4.9 you could pull one wire at a time out of the distributor and the wire that affects the engine the least will be the cylinder that has the problem..and you can focus on that cylinder

You can perform power balance test using driver information center. ECM will disable one injector at a time. But you should be able to notice 100 RPM change. A tachometer would be helpful.

The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
