CONFUSING

OKAY I'M GETTING THE MESSAGE BATTERY VOLTS HIGH WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ..AND IT WOULD START UP FINE RUN FOR MAYBE 3 MINUTES THEN BACK OUT...VERY CONFUSED

Can you explain what you mean by THEN BACK OUT?

This code sets when engine is running at a speed greater than 800 RPM and IPC voltage is greater than 16 volts for more than 2 seconds.

The voltage from the generator to the battery can go high when the resistance in the battery is too low? There is an article here: http://www.v8mr2.com/reference/alternator1.pdf which appears to be a good reference on how to diagnose using the onboard diagnostics, in this case on a 95 Concours. So how to get into the diagnostics would be different on your 92, but the article might still be useful in terms of what to check?

back out as in meaning it cuts back off..i did lose the original screw to my battery terminal and i was trying to use a slightly smaller one just to get it started and go to the auto parts store to get a nother screw could that b a problem?

Yes, using the wrong battery post or connection can cause the exact problem you are having.

If I recall correctly, there are two positive cable that are piggy backed and there is a spacer in between. With the wrong bolt (no spacer) one is not getting current. I agree with Bruce.
