RDWRIOR
jodogzzz, I tried to look up the part number that you seek using an online GM parts catalog to which I have access, but which is not available to the general public. In order to know the exact part number, I would need to know your vehicle's interior color and whether or not your vehicle is eqipped with the Bose speaker system. However, the bad news for you is that the switch is not available separately from the overhead console assembly to which it is attached -- the entire console must be purchased. The price for the console varies with the color and speaker option, but in any case the part price is very high! Assuming that you were to purchase the correct part from an online retailer that charges the "dealer price" plus shipping (such as www.gmpartsdirect.com, among others), you would still have to pay $250 ~ $300, perhaps more. The typical dealer's "over the counter price" would be even higher, approximately double the "dealer" price! Before you go spending that kind of money, I would strongly suggest that you try to locate a switch or console assembly (containing the switch) from a salvage parts dealer. Perhaps someone else here can suggest a good salvage parts vendor that may be able to help you -- I seem to recall "Bob D" mentioning a good source of used Cadillac parts, but I can't rember the name right now. . . Good luck!
canadian95sts
jodogzzz, i agree with RDWRIOR, you should try and locat a switch at a scrap yard, if you cant find any Caddy's , there must be another GM vehicle that would use the same switch or a similar one. If it happened earlier i woulda grabbed you the one out of my 95 STS before she went to the boneyard. WarrenJ
. . . . my 95 STS before she went to the boneyard. Aw, jeeze . . . . that's no way to speak about a Seville. For the switch, however, maybe try lookin' at the DigaKey catalog. Maybe Newark Electronics? Or some such? The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
