piscator
PROBLEM: No air coming through the right, center, and left dash air vent grills. A/C and heat coming through the top windshield defroster and front and back passenger compartments. I just can’t figure out how the air is deflected to the front dashboard air ducts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I took out the glove compartment, and passenger knee bolster to see what I could see. I am about ready to start tearing the dashboard apart and trace the duct work from the dash grills to the source of air. Any help would be appreciated. I have pictures that I can send you of the under dash control arms that seem to work OK. Thank you. antfish@frontiernet.net if that would help. Bob*97 SLS
Here is my post when I had this problem earlier this year. I leave my repairs to my Caddy Dealership and Mr. Goodwrench! I hope this helps! **My Seville started moving the air delivery from the dash (center) to defrost vents this weekend. I dropped the car off at the dealer this morning at 8am and picked it up at noon. They had to replace a part called the "AC Mode Switch Solenoid." They said this is what the system uses to direct the air delivery. Total was $221.93. I thought this info would help others. It getting harder to not drive a new one. The CTS has grown on me and I do like the Devilles.**

canadian95sts
Couldnt find anything on the air mix door, not sure why, i remember reading several posts on this topic before. ANYWAYS, i did find this: There is always a default path for air delivery when there is a loss of vacuum control. apparently the flow of air is controlled by vacume, and the symptoms you are describing could be caused by a vacume leak,(Maybe even at the air mix door, if it exists), causing the above mantioned "default path"!?!?!?!?! Hope that helped Matt A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "darn...that was fun!" www.madd.ca
Ranger
Sounds like a air delivery door. Air mix controls tempurature. Default due to loss of vacuum is defrost. I am not sure if that feeds the rear as well but check the vacuum supply line where it enters the cabin on the passenger side firewall first to be sure you have vacuum.
