Marika
This morning I noticed that the speedometer in my 92 Seville was "sticking" a bit. Any ideas as to why? If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
Logan
There is no speedometer cable. Its all done via electrical signal. The vehicle speed sensor is on the passenger end of the transmission just above the drive shaft. The speedo itself is driven with an electric motor. Hopefully a bad speed sensor. I'll see if it continues to act up and if it does, I'll look further into it. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars.
