Looking For A Newer Eldorado

WarrenJ

Recommended Posts

My current '95 is in NICE shape at 121K miles. I'm looking to move forward to a newer Eldorado (Yes, it's gotta be an Eldo).

I'd guess this is my last chance to recover some of the value in the current car before moving forward.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking about a '99 or better.

Regards,

Warren

The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

Hi Warren,

'96 and up had the newer interior. '97 and up had larger brakes (11.9" vs. 11.0") and a revised front suspension and more chassis gussetting. I'm unfamiliar with the refinements past the 1997 model year, but I'd recommend at least a '97.

I'd love to hear the exhaust system on one of those Collector Series cars. I didn't think it upped the official power rating to 325 as the page owner stated, but I do understand it sounds much different.

How 'bout this:

Collector Series

I would like to find one...

>"It also brings the horsepower up 25 horses, ECS Cadillac has a total of 325 BHP.<"

Hmm... <_<

I'm a little dubious about that claim...From just stainless exhaust work? ("That's not too much different from stock") I might believe 5-10 hp with a high flow cat and mufflers, but 25? Not without headers in my book, and that crossover pipe make that r-e-a-l tough... ;)

'93 STS.. opened, dropped, wide...fast.

Maybe a CHIP Bob? Could that do it?

Nope...the engineers that designed the N* didn't leave that kind of HP just sitting on the table. With over 1hp per CI, "All the low hanging fruit was picked" ;)

Just wondering,

i thought they stopped production of the eldorado in 1999??

If not, when was the last production year?

Warren how much do you want for yours? Mike

Dunno Mike. I'm the sort that doesn't get rid of the old vehicle 'till I've had the new(er) one for a month or two (and given it a thorough shakedown).

It took me nearly three months to find "baby." I bought "baby" on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) and sold my old ride on June 30th. So, I don't anticipate any new leather under my butt anytime soon. "Baby" is the fourth car in a row I purchased on St. Patrick's Day. See a pattern here?? ;)

"Baby" is loaded with everything but the Bose system. Unfortunately, she has the infamous tear in the driver's armrest. I'm looking into getting it fixed now.

Warren
