New Engine

I've never needed one but my mechanic reccommends Jasper remanufactured engines very highly. They are quality engines built in a state-of-the-art plant and are available nationwide. They aren't the cheapest rebuilt engines out there but they have a excellent nationwide guarantee.

Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.

If I were you I would check out your local scrap yards. I have been successful in having two 4.9's shipped, one to Amsterdam and one to Matt in North Jersey. I really don't want to chance doing that again, unless the person is overseas and has no other option available to them, or they are located nearby like Matt was so he can speak to the yard directly. JUST in case there is an issue, you never know. I would feel terrible if I had an engine shipped to you and there was something wrong, in Matts case the distributor was bent (probably from shipping or installation) and he needed a new distributor which my scrap yard supplied readily.

You would be better off finding a local yard. If you can find a good scrap yard, they will listen to the engine before they pull the engine out, record the mileage, and wrap them up in plastic. That is what my yard does. If you don't have yards near you, you can try www.car-parts.com maybe you can find one near you.. Good Luck, Mike

I need a little help on finding a 4.9 for a 93 Deville. The car is my mothers and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The car is perfect other than the motor.

What's wrong with the motor? Mileage? Codes?

The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
