Raybil50
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I've need some input. I bought a 2002 SLS a couple of months ago and have constantly reoccurring C1287 and C1288 history codes (service stability system). Have any of you run in to this? Thanks. Oldgamer
C1287 - Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction C1288 - Steering Sensor Circuit Malfunction If these codes reoccur and everytime in a History it looks like problem is intermittent. It's possible connectors or wiring. Don't rush to change the sensor. I would to wait until problem became "current" and it will be possible to chase it easier. OynxSTS
Your '02 should still be on warrantee... Unless it is a high mileage unit... I would have your dealer look at it... BUT, if your dealer is anything like mine… They have zero interest in resolving anything in history. They will just clear the codes smile and tell you nothing is wrong. Good Luck! scotsman
Yes Igot that message and the car-a 2001 sls with 52k miles-would brake to stabilise the car in the middle of the Interstate. The dealer changed the electronic brake control module and the problem came back a week later. This time the tightened up the connections and the problem was solved Les
