adallak
ABS light came up several times when engine was hot (210 plus). What could be wrong? No codes. Did not perform ABS diagnostic yet. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
bigjayzway
Did you check the level of your fluid? I know I had a bad sensor on mine, and it only was effected when it was hot for some reason...I eventually had to replace the speed sensor cause it just got worse. jhall
adallak, Check the connector that plug onto the ABS/EBCM module. I have had episodes of the same type of fault due to a bad connection at the connector interface. It does not take too much increase in resistance at the connector for the logic signals to be lost - and a fault code is displayed. There is a metal bail that holds the connector in place and you have to release a lock tab that locks the connector to the ABS module. Lift the bail and the lock tab at the same time to disconnect the connector. Take off the air filter and you should be able to see te ABS module on the frame below. Remove and then reinstall the connector. Work on it when the car is cold. The lower radiator hose and the front exhaust pipe are too hot to work around. Let us know what happens! Adallak, I had a similar issue, it turned out to be the brake fluid level sensor. I unplugged it, cleaned the connector, hooked it back up & no trouble for almost a year now. If the service brake fluid warning is coming on also, then this could be your trouble. A low brake fluid condition will trigger an ABS disabled warning. It is easy to do and better yet, it didn't cost anything. It's worth a shot anyway. Good Luck, Britt Britt
adallak
Big Jay, jhall & Britt thank you for the replies. I have checked the speed sensors and the area around them and everything looked normal. Brake fluid level is fine. I check all the fluids at least once a week. I'll look at the connectors as soon as it cools down up here. Thanks again, I'll let you know. BTW, one of the brake pads has a tiny crack on it (across the pad). It has only 3.000 miles. The caliper and the slides are perfect. Should I replace it ASAP?Never saw something like that before. You could end up with a whole lot of problems if you don't replace the pads. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
adallak
Yes gentlemen. That's what I think to do. The crack may expand when the pad is hot and eventually the latter may fall apart. I will replace it tomorrow. Did you notice as soon as you do something on a car ... new problems show up? adallak
I have reconnected the ABS and brake fluid level sensor's connections. So far so good. Have not seen the light since. Thanks guys. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
