fubar0715
I got the news last week. My STS has what my mechanic calls a "compromised headgasket" and will require substanstial cost to repair...I dont have the ability to complete this myself so I must cut my losses and move on to another vehicle... The car starts right up, runs and drives, but rapidly begins to heat up...I have replaced all of the following item within the 2 years ........ Firestone Iffinity tires, new brakes & rotors on all 4 corners, new radiator, new plugs and wires, and new battery......Looking to get $1800 obo! Pictures to follow........contact me with any questions @ 813-431-1772
rollingthunder1994
Hey Scott, I had the overheating problem with my 94 STS. Every shop said it was the head gasket. Turned out to be the 3/8 hollow bolt above the water pump that has the rubber hose connected to it. I took the bolt out and it was clogged with pieces of the heater hose. I found this out after changing radiator, thermostat, heater core, radiator cap. Also check the return line that runs from the purge tank inder the intake cover that might be clogged also. It was on this board thiat i found out about the hollow bolt.
