I seen a 2001 Caterra. Are these a decent car? Or stay away?

The Catera is going to seem like a compact after owning a Deville. I believe it's GM's entry level Cadillac. I'd have to say Nay unless you don't mind taking a few steps backwards....in my opinion.

The Catera seems to have some issues with the 3L V6. I have not heard any other specific issues.

It was a very heavy car, weighing the same or more than the Sevilles of the time. I always thought it counterintuitive that the EPA MPG rating for the V6 could be worse than the EPA MPG rating for the V8's. But I assume this was driven by the workload the V6 had.

The Catera is about as much of a Cadillac as the Cimarron was. It's an Opel with Caddy badges and leather seating. Those V6 engines in them are known to be problematic, mostly those built before 2000. They are not know for great reliabitly. Personally, I would never own one, knowing what they are, and how unreliable they "can" be.
