DAVEMAIRS
MY 91 DEVILLE IDLES GREAT BUT AT SPEEDS OVER 25 MPH IT BOGGS DOWN AND DIES. I KNOW THAT; THE INJECTORS WORK, THEY ARE GETTING CORRECT FUEL PRESSURE , I JUST PUT NEW PLUGS/WIRES DISTRUBITOR CAP AND ROTOR ON THE CAR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. IF YOU CAN HELP IT WILL BE WELL APPRICATED. THANKS.
Caddyman
In my 85 fleetwood FWD, basically a deville, I eventually had to replace the ignition module, it is a small computer chip thing that is inside the dist. I was experiencing all kinds of random power problems, and that fixed it, was only like $15.
bigjayzway
Have you checked the fuel filter? Is the Cat. new, or glowing when the car is running? Sounds like a cat. problem, but could be a bunch more too. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!

If not, you need to hook up a fuel pressure gage to the fuel rail and tape the gage to the windshield and go for a test ride. If the fuel pressure drops off while it is stalling, the fuel pump is likely failing.
