Garlicdude
I got this in my email and have no idea whether it will work or not, but it might be worth a try. If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone on your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at your home press the unlock button of your key fob (clicker), holding it near the phone on their end. Your car doors will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk)
JimD
Your Cadillac keyfob remote is a RF device. Telephones and other audio (AF) devices cannot produce / deliver a signal to the remote receiver in your car. Won't work on a Cadillac. This is like getting a phone call from your phone company asking you to hold your handset over the toilet while they flush their lines. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! Bruce Nunnally
http://www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/phonelocks.html It's possible that this chain letter owes its origins to a misunderstanding of General Motors' popular On-Star service that, among other things, allows an operator to unlock your car remotely in response to a phone call. However, that services uses a combination of sophisticated cell phone and satellite technology, along with human operators, to work its magic. An On-Star operator can unlock your car from miles away because the On-Star system allows him or her to locate the car and access its internal computer. Because of its sophistication, the system is relatively pricey, with the equipment being installed mostly on higher-end GM vehicles and the service requiring an annual subscription fee. Marika
This is like getting a phone call from your phone company asking you to hold your handset over the toilet while they flush their lines. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

Poobah
The same advice was E-mailed to me a couple of weeks ago by a friend. I sent her the following response: The only time in the last many years I locked my keys in the car, both my cell phone and my only keyless entry transmitter were also locked in the car! Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
jhall
Believe that? OK, here's a similar one..... I had a really dumb neighbor that locked his keys in the front seat of his car. It took 2 hours to get his family out.......

PAUL T
We had a local radio DJ get into trouble because he announced that the phone company was going to clean their lines out by using compressed air. He instructed people to put plastic bags over their phones to keep the dust from getting into the house. I guess the station got so many calls asking how long they were supposed to keep the bags over their phones. Any way the DJ had to tell everyone he was sorry and explain that it was a hoax.
