beegolden
Looking for tips on what to look out for when buying a Escalade? This is a 1999 with 83xxx miles and I should be able to purchase under $12,000. I am not worried about the 12-13 miles per gallon since my wife only drives 6000 miles a year. All the reading I come across does not say anthing about major issues with these SUV,s Any pointers are welcome. Thank you
TDK
beegolden, I would consider Carfax on that rig (unless you really know the orig owners). Aside from that, its a reliable Chevy with luxurious Caddy trim. Considering the recent drop off in used, big SUV prices - you should be able to negotiate very well. You may want to browse EBay for "buy it now" comparisons. Good Luck Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning. OynxSTS
I agree, keep in mind a clean carfax means nothing... Participation in the tool is spotty at best. But a bad carfax is worth its weight in gold. Nice truck though... Your going to look great cruzin the hood! Do you sing rap? or play for the Lakers? OynxSTS
Interesting effect wives and Escalades... My wife drools each time she sees one... She has even trained our kids to say "I want an Escalade" any time we are at the dealership. The really good news about these trucks is that they hold there value better than just about any other GM product. I have heard from friends of mine who own a 2004 "regular" sized one that storage is a little tight befind the back seat... These are built to move people and tow stuff in style... If you need to move stuff and you don't want to tow a trailer get a ESV or EXT Enjoy your truck, and if you see a middle aged lady drooling at... As they say that's no lady that's my wife! KHE
If you are really set on an Escalade - consider a 2002 or later model as they were restyled an have all of the Cadillac features such as climate control, etc. The early ones were very similar to a Chevy Tahoe.....except for the price.
