If you read through all of the replies in that thread, you should be able to gather all of the information that you seek. keith_99_sts Posted July 21, 2005 Report Share Posted July 21, 2005 Thanks for the link. My passenger side mirror has worked loose at the base about one year ago. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door . Remove the door frame garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Front Door Frame . Disconnect the electrical connectors (2). Remove the three fasteners (3). Disconnect the wire harness from the retainer clip and unseat the grommet. Route the wiring harness through the hole in the mirror patch. Remove the mirror (1) from the door. Installation Procedure Route the mirror wiring harness through the hole in the mirror patch. Install the mirror (1) into the door frame. Align the studs through the holes in the mirror patch. Notice Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. Install the three fasteners in order to secure the mirror to the door. Tighten Tighten the mirror fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in). Top nut Forward nut Rear nut Install the grommet by gently pulling into place. Connect the electrical connectors. Install harness into retainer clip. Install the door frame garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Front Door Frame . Install the door trim panel.
