hatchman
Hey guys, quick question. On a 95 STS Northstar, is it okay to run engine without the "cosmetic" engine cover. Just wondering, cause I had removed it messing with the wire routing and the fuel pressure gauge and drove around a little with the cover off. Scotty
I think its only for appearances and to minimize the injector noise, its fine to drive without it.
navion
Just don't try it on a 93 or 94 N*. The cover on those engines is required as it seals the plenum from the atmosphere. There is a caution in the book about not starting the 93 or 94's with the cover removed. I believe that the 95's up had a redesigned plenum that are sealed independently of the cover.
