troyboy
Hi have a 94 sts with exhaust, and i was wondering if a chip would help performance?? or shifts. And is it worth buying a K&N cone filter dose it help? And one more thing what should my car run in 1/4 with exhaust, K&N cone, Air box mod, chip. It runs really good chirps 2 gear everytime with new tires THANKS
TDK
FOr 1/4 milebased on what I've noticed over time with this board... Forget the K&N, air box holes and chip. The stock intake is not the bottleneck and the chip is silicon hype. (and I know some will squeal foul...) Simply open up the exhaust, install a high stall torque convertor, lighten it up, get decent race rubber on the front and run with 1/8 tank of the best octane. All IMHO Good luck Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.
Fast95SLS
I tried the Superchip, but it did not improve my 1/8 or 1/4 mile times. I have larger exhaust and free flow mufflers and a panel K&N. I tried the K&N Cone and it slowed my times, probably due to the heat of the engine compartment. With BF Goodrich Drag Radials I run 9.56 @ 75 MPH in the 1/8 mile. In the 1/4, I run mid 14's @ 95 to 100 MPH depending on the track that I use.
67coupedeville
I tried the Superchip, but it did not improve my 1/8 or 1/4 mile times. Did the Superchip up the top speed from 110mph? Spence
Fast95SLS
Yes, the Superchip changed the top speed. I brought it up to 130MPH before I turned chicken.
