adallak
Last night at 5 am alarm went off... There was nobody around , I turned it off and it went off again in an hour or so.... What could cause it? The only "modification" to the system is the integrated resistor, but it was around for year or so with no ill effects. The only thing which comes to mind is the wet trunk, but I did not see any wires or modules wet or in the water. Anybody with similar experience? chriskoc1
Did you check for condensation on the wires in the trunk? Just a though...
KHE
This is the factory alarm that sounds the horn and flashed all of the lights right? If so, one of the door or trunk tamper switches may be malfunctioning causing the alarm to trip. That system is separate from the VATS. KHE
I think that's a separate problem from the alarm. The tamper switch located in each door and the trunk may be shorting and setting the alarm off. Unplug one at a time until the problem goes away and then you've found the problem switch. adallak
Thanks KHE, I'll check it out. The problem is that the alarm went of just last night never did before or after... I belive there is some mechanical restriction preventing the door lock move freely, perhaps the tamper switch suffers from the same restriction.
