Rusty
The fuel gauge barely moves off full - after extended mileage and known fuel consumption. (eventually after about 3/4 empty it does move) It has been suggested that maybe the fuel sensor was damaged by gas containing excess sulphur, and could be the source of the problem. Naturally it's past the warranty period, so I thought I might tackle the operation myself rather than shelling out big $$$. Anybody been there ? Ranger
Sounds like a stuck float maybe. First look inside the trunk for an access panel. That would save you dropping the tank.
halfrican
Same problem here, fuel tank stays on full till about 175 miles on trip meter, then it drops slowly and sometimes goes back up. I too was thinking fuel level sensor, let me know what you find out. Half
JimD
If you guys have to replace sending units, remember the '98 to '04 Sevilles have a fuel pump access panel in the trunk. No need to drop the tank. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
