bschelle
I am replacing the TPS on my 99 Deville and want to know if I have to remove the throttle body or can I change it with it in place.
cdictas
B, Throttle positioning sensor resides just below the idle air controller. You should have enough room to replace it without removing the throttle body. By the way, did you get a code? Chuck
bschelle
I got a low voltage code. The idle was at 2200 rpm's and below. When I cleared the codes it would idle OK for a while then act up again. I replaced the TPS without removing the throttle body. I had to remove the dogbone mount and bracket to get to the torx screws. Took about an hour. All is back to normal and no more codes or SES light.
