ted tcb
I started my car yesterday, and Traction Control & Service Engine light came on. Turned car off, lights went away on start up. Today, same thing ... lights on at startup, then they go away on the next start up. I've got it in for a new serpentine belt this morning, and I've asked their input on the message lights ... possibly o2 sensor? Any ideas ... common problem? 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
Scotty
You need to run diagnostics and post the codes, its difficult to know whats going on otherwise Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once you know where the Northstar is you can point your ship in the right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding ones path in life.
ted tcb
Thanks, Scotty ... the car's in the shop, I'm at work and just a little anxious, I guess. When I get the car back this afternoon, I'll run the codes and see what comes up. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
ted tcb
Picked up my car this afternoon. I wish I could post a pic of the old belt ... it had a strip about 2in. long carved out, just skinned off the top. The pulleys and tensioner were quiet, and seem fine when turning freely and when under a load. No codes were pulled when the dealer scanned it, so hopefully all is well with the new belt. I've never heard my car so quiet ... hope it lasts. Total bill, including tax, was $80 Cdn ... waived the charge to check codes ... seems fair. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
ted tcb
Forgot to add ... the mechanic used a laser to ensure that the belt is seated perfectly. He mentioned the old belt could've been slightly out of line, thus causing the chirping .... it was sounding like a car with retarded timing. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
