I'm with Rickster.

I was sayin NFW on Northstar transplants, 'til I was shown the Fiero thing w/a OBDI.

With all the bit*hing about OBDII no tweak and all, you would think anyone w/balls 'nuff to try one - might hear instead - go fer it!

Letz see the pics etc. :)

Guarcz03,

You go guy and yer buddy too. While I agree that a 'stang wid a Northstar seems "out there", (easier waz to get power) - I say sho me.

If notin else - itz fun readin :P

'nother company dinner.. drinks... vino... quality BS... you kno...later

Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.

But I know a Northstar in a Pontiac Fiero is possible and that is pretty extreme.

Something else thats possible as well is a 3.8 SC in a Fiero.

Man ole man ... that thing will move! Never heard of a Northstar in one though.

Why someone would want to put a 4.6 Caddy engine in a Mustang is beyond me, since a Ford 4.6 is available, should bolt right in and has aftermarket support, where as the Caddy 4.6 aftermarket support is very good!

Jlaw i apolize for what i said but it was in fact a base model 300, i didnt update it becuase i felt like an idiot, the one i drove was his 300c but he wanted to trade his wifes reg 300 (i didnt find out until like 3 weeks after i posted it) anyway he Treats his car like Crap .. i post the pictures when i get them.. i have better things to do with my time then make up a story about a northstar powered mustang, if i was into story telling i

"could have made it better like dropping it in a Civic, Escort or a Maxima."

Actually it WOULD be more believable if it were in a Maxima. That is FWD with a good size V6. And hell you might be able to shoehorn the Nstar in an Escort that is fwd also.

Get a mid 90's Ford escort for about $1500, then proceed to spend $8000 for the Nstar engine and tranny. Then $3000? to make it work. Paint it jet black and add Ford SVT badges and a big *smurf* wing. Or make it a sleeper

you can get the Northstar and tranny alot cheaper but I think getting it to work would balance out the cost! I just remember years back Hot Rod Mag. went to GM's skunk works and they had some WILD stuff in a warehouse I just remember the Chevy Citation with a V-6 in the front AND one in the back it was an all wheel drive test mule, would probably be easier to (on the escort wagon) leave the 4 banger up front and put the Nstar in the back but I lack the funds among other things! <_<

There is a Dude in my area (Greater Detroit) that has a Chrysler LHS with the stock front engine and a rear one added that drives the rear wheels. He is/was one of the original "Ramcharger" race guys. As the story was told to me he showed up at Chrysler's Tech center and bet some engineers he could "take" the Viper they were running around in... I believe lunch was on the line... anyway he won, and afterward showed them the engine in the back seat. The engines make around 300 HP each and the rear windows are so dark that you can't see what's going on inside (there is a safety wall inside that is a give-away if you look close). I thought that this story was BS back when I heard it, but then I saw the car at a Cruise event the weekend of the Concours De'elegance Car Show at Oakland University! It's a TOTAL sleeper!

Back about 3 or 4 years ago someone was building "twin engine" 94 Eldorado's. I believe there was a N* in the front along with one in the back(could have been the 4.9...not sure). Used to be in every issue of the Dupont Registry...don't see them much anymore

Howyadoin,

That would be a Mosler Twinstar... Eeevil lookin' thing, pretty darn quick too. 12 second 1/4 mile, 4.5 0-60, 180 top end... Personally I woulda ditched the back seat instead of stretching the chassis to put the engine in the trunk, but that's just me.

I wish the people up in Canada who did the Northstar Jetta had kept the video of the test drive on their website. It was amazing stuff! Does anyone have the .AVI (or whatever) stored away somewhere? I used to have it but lost it in a hard drive crash.
