rockfangd
Well I am rather impressed. Finished the install. Everything lined up perfectly. I am super picky so that was not easy. So improvements are noticeable Ground clearance is a big one tucking is better. When car is running and I am outside I know it is running now. When driving the car it is quiet for the most part. Very tolerable. When idling cannot be heard inside the car. In driving there is not a noticeable increase of power in takeoff, but when driving and accelerating the pickup is way smoother. Before I replaced the mufflers if I accelerated hard the rpms would almost hit redline and it would pull the car. Now speed increases smoothly with the rpm increase, and there is no pull. I honestly never hit redline from 20mph up to 80 on a hard acceleration. I like the rumble as it comes down to idle as well. I will have to see if it changes once they are broken in BodybyFisher 1 Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
sprucegoose
Nicely done! They look great and I think you did a great job on the install! 👍🏻 I’m kind of surprised about your comment on the difference of smoothness on hard acceleration. I would have thought if anything you’d see slight gain in power and notable roar on WOT! I know especially on my ‘93 it was an incredible gain there, but I did replace the ailing cat converter with a high-flow aftermarket part at the same time. Just FYI, if selecting 2nd gear at launch instead of Drive, the acceleration is significantly better as well. My 93 would snap shift into 2nd at redline, and even squeal the tires at times! 😆 Enjoy the new pipes! 👌🏻 BodybyFisher 1 Quote '09 Cadillac CTS-4 3.6 direct injection, 128 K mi. rockfangd
I know that about the second gear hehe. Your Cat change helped you drastically. Thank you for the compliment😁 Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
rockfangd
To add to this I did drill a drainhole in each muffler at the lowest point. Good thing too as water poured out of both Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

Good thing too as water poured out of both That’s a good call, especially on this layout where the lowest point of the mufflers are the front of the body. I forgot to mention I did this as well, having a small ⅛” “weep” hole there will give years of life to that setup! 👍🏻 Quote '09 Cadillac CTS-4 3.6 direct injection, 128 K mi. rockfangd
Agreed. I have only driven it maybe twice. Have to wait for the salt to wash away again. I feel like they are dumping salt just to get rid of it. Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
sprucegoose
Ughhh that sucks for sure! 😖So glad that we’ve been done with that for a while now! Did my first complete hand-wash job on the CTS the other day! Nice to get everything in the door jams, under hood and trunk lid finally! All dressed up and no place to go with this shelter-in-place order though... 😔 BodybyFisher 1 Quote '09 Cadillac CTS-4 3.6 direct injection, 128 K mi. rockfangd
Just thought I would post an update to this. I love the mufflers. They are perfect for the application. In every way actually. Thank you to the member that recommended them. I am very impressed and they were completely worth the install.
