clusco
I think the squeaking is actually your upper control arm from not being greased often enough. That is the case with my car anyway. The bushing itself cannot be changed though. The entire arm must be changed. If I'm not mistaken

Wow! I would love to help but I'm having trouble understanding your description. Try being more specific. cadillac_caddy_sts
I have to replace my entire hub because the bushing has had it! There is know way to just replace the bushing itself this is why I have to replace the hole hub! Myn is on the rear passenger side wheel and the hole wheel wobles and squeeks! I wouldn't mind the squeek its just that its doing a number on my tire with all the woblling! I am replaceing the hole hub on saturday ill report back with how I made out! TDK
This one had me going fer a while... I ran "tabl" though a crypto program and then several language translation programs as well to no avail... Then luckily, others posted and I was able to use the keyword "hole" with "tabl". The real breaktrough was when Caddilac-Caddy STS somehow knew WTF G_Caddy was transmitting. So, I ran it through a "Canadian to English" translation algorithm for advanced "Canuckize". Finally, "Lower Control Arm" emerged as the elusive part in question. Sorry, can't help regarding bushing replacement. I only replaced this "hole tabl" when I folded one up a long time ago on another car. Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning. cadillac_caddy_sts
Replaced the bushing yesturday and than the car was still wobbiling and squeeking! Relized that the bushing had made the wheel loose and made a groove in the tire so I finally replaced the tires something I have wanted to do for a while I got michelin x radial plus's. With that and wheel blancing and the new bushing the car rides like a dream now! Before with my bald tires and bad bushing the car rode like an old truck! an01sts
I'm not sure about the 97, but I don't think that there is anything to grease in the front end components.

Thanks guys for your help Could be your rear knuckle causing all the noise. When I had a terrible creaking noise in the left rear (a year ago) I had it isolated to upper control arm or knuckle. After calling around to Caddy parts dealers I discovered that a whole bunch of rear knuckles are sold but rarely are upper control arms sold. Only problem that you may find yourself struggling over is the fact that the knuckle cost almost 3 times as much as the upper control arm. To make sure it wasn't the upper control arm bushings I took the wheel off and soaked the control arm bushings with silicone. The bushings are small and working the silicone in was easy. Put the tire back on and rocked the car. The creaking was still as bad as ever. The knuckle has wide narrow bushings that makes it extremely difficult to temporarily lube. Since I had eliminated the upper control arm I was confident it was the knuckle......and it was. Hope this helps some. Good luck.
