pose_etc
Hey guys. Two out of the three map light switches in the overhead console on my 2001 STS do not function. The switch buttons do not push the button cover downward as they should, so the button covers appear flush and do nothing. Anybody have any luck installing new switches or have any ideas on a relatively inexpensive fix for this? Thank you in advance. Pose
sonjaab
Do they come on when u rotate the headlight knob or dimmer? Check the fuses? Bust out the test light too. sonjaab
So I take it you didnt bother to check the fuses/bulbs or test for power either huh? Quote 93 DeVille-13 Chevy Impala 72 GTO - 77 Triumph Bonneville 84 Z-28 Syracuse NY
rockfangd
from what you describe sounds like the springs are bad, or the plastic is slightly warped causing them to not push properly. Possibly exercising them may help to resolve the issue. If not then switch replacement would be necessary Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

Nope. As I said, that is NOT the issue.
