Jakub92
Ok, so I'm looking for some advice, My 99' deville is running rather hot, my thermostat was in bad shape so I went and replaced it, but now it's running warmer than before, its never overheated but i regularly clean out the cooling system as i know the 97 to 99 northstar engine has shorter head bolts and dont want to warp head or anything, but it was staying a 203F or below and now it's running 208 to 212 at highway speeds. I know that's not super hot as the fans won't kick on until 224F but at highway speeds it should run around the high 190's I thought. I'm out of ideas and worried that if will end up overheating in these summer temps. Any thoughts? Thanks.

What are the outside temps? Different stats are calibrated differently. Check your air purge line to be sure it is flowing, its purpose it to allow air out of the cooling system Gently Remove the purge line off the top of the coolant tank. Get a jar, bottle or can and put the hose on it. Start and idle the engine. Look at the hose coolant should flow and spit from the hose, if not let us know here, we will tell you how to clear it. Jakub92
@BodybyFisher Outside temps were in the mid 80s low 90s. So hopefully it's fine. I'm already replacing the rear bushing, I can't do another problem yet.

Jakub92
@BodybyFisher Yes upper and lower both sides. The guy that had it before me had no clue what was wrong and I took it to a mechanic for diagnostic tests, he had no clue, so I've been tearing it apart looking for answers and I found that there is basically no bushings left. I just got the new one in today and have to replace them before work tomorrow.

I just got the new one in today and have to replace them before work tomorrow. I have replaced them a bunch of times. The bushings are available now, but years ago you needed to buy the knuckle from GM. I negotiated and worked with MOOG for years to get them to produce the replacement bushings and even sent them an old knuckle. The bushing come with cups to help you install them. Your ride will be much improved. Ask us questions when you have problems like this we probably could have saved you a lot of time. @Jakub92 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

But I put new fuses in everything and it won't spin. Have yet to come acrossed why buy I'm thinking of replacing all of it when I can gather up the money. BodybyFisher
Pull them out and connect them directly to 12 volt power and see if they run. Rockauto.com has cooling fans that have a wide range of prices, don't buy the cheapest. We may have a 5% discount certificate for you here. BodybyFisher
Also, if you have a money crunch check local scrap yards they may have them sitting on the shelf. I am a big fan of scrap yards You can also search here, this is a terrific nationwide database of scrap yards http://car-part.com/mobile/index.htm Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
One more thing, have you checked for P codes that may have been set? You do no need a code reader You can check them through the dash, do you know how? Post P codes here and indicate if it is history or current @Jakub92 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
