oil sending unit location on a 1997 eldorado

The problem is a sensor is reporting low oil pressure.

Oil pressure is like water pressure - if the pump is pumping and there is oil, there should be the normal flow pressure.  if not, this warning tells you before the engine seizes from lack of lubrication.

First, check the oil level.  If there is no oil that can kill oil pressure.  Refill if needed.

Next we have to consider if there is good flow and the sensor is bad, or low flow and the sensor is right.  That may be a question for your mechanic to diagnose.

if there is low flow the oil pickup may be jammed or damaged and needs repair.

if there is good flow the sensor may be malfunctioning and need replacement.
