A/C blowing heat

Recommended Posts

I own a 2012 SRX and on the navigation screen -40 degrees F flashed and the car started to poor out heat.  I’m in Georgia and it’s 90 degrees.  This is the 3rd time.  I have had it charged and no change.  It will eventually start back cooling.  I noticed that it was raining the first time and while in a car wash the other 2 times but I’m not sure if it’s connected.  Any advice is appreciated.

Go to an autozone and have them pull the diagnostic codes write them down and post them here.

You may have a malfunctioning temperature actuator.   Next time this happens notice if there is a difference between the driver and passenger temps if you have a dual zone system

What temp flashed -40?

The outside ambient temp?

-40 is the low limit, so that means the sensor has lost connection.

If it is the outside temp locate the sensor up front by the radiator, unplug it and inspect the pins and wires right near the sensor itself. They are known to corrode or break there
