BodybyFisher
Yes, pay strict attention to the wire colors, twist, solder, heat shrink wrap and tape the wire joints. Simply twisting and taping is not adequate. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out. rockfangd
Did you have the battery disconnected while all of the wires were being cut? I hope so BodybyFisher 1 Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
BodybyFisher
@rockfangd brings up a good point! Also, make sure box is grounded and plug is seated. Check all colors. If there is a NETWORK wire, it may not be easy to reconnect. Did you find shielded wires? Travis Lewis
I must admit ...I'm starting to feel better. Today I got the car to start!!!!! However it kills in like a second . The more I cranked it seemed like the longer the car would stay on! Longest was like 4 seconds lol. I DNT understand. While the wires were cut and I was figuring out what to do, the only problem I was having we're no interior lights and no crank no start. But now when I even put the car in the on position I here a buzzing sound coming from behind the steering wheel I think. I actually heat shrank the wires....it's been complete be HELL HOMIE....LOL they're the smallest wires I've ever seen but I didn't even connect All of them yet I have like 6 more How would I ground the box? BodybyFisher
You didnt connect all the wires yet and you are trying to start it? 😳🙄😳 Please connect everything up BEFORE you attempt starting it, using interior lights, etc. And PLEASE, disconnect the battery, the hair on the back of my neck is standing up. Please double check the wire matches BEFORE you hook the battery up. Are the colors easy to match? How many wires are there? Did you solder the joints? What in the world would made you want to cut the wires on the bcm? Did you just think it had no purpose? What were you planning to put in its place a flux capacitor? 😀 Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
rockfangd
I hate to put it this way but if not done properly you may have issues that are going to be future gremlins. I would not even connect the battery without making sure all wires are properly connected. These computers are constantly powered and grounded, they are triggered on via datalink. They all have to communicate properly in order for the car to even start and run. The fact that you are attempting to start the car without the above being present can do more damage than good. Where exactly did you cut the wires? And how exactly are you putting them back together? Travis Lewis
I feel like the DUMBEST person EVER . Still, I feel I made a little progress. Especially taking in ALL info from y'all boys. But. I got the car started! Itll start Everytime I turn the ignition but It won't stay running! I mean I hit my gas to try n keep the engine running but it kills EVERYTIME! also my interior lights won't come BK on. My radio won't turn off I have to disconnect the battery. Idk where to start. A friend says it might be the fuel pump but honestly....I connected every wire BK to the bcm except like 3....it's kinda hard to explain but I can't reach em . I hear ppl talking bout programming there bcm but this is my original bcm since the lines were cut though using the same bcm, would I have to program it?? I don't get it, it'll start then bam...shuts off. Never had an issue wit da car. Yall think I could use pigtails from a different car yet connect to my original bcm? Or since it cranks n starts then kills, could it be a part of some security systr.??
BodybyFisher
Take a photo of the wire issue and post it. Those wires have to be connected. Post the colors of the wires you cant connect...I have a 95 manual but.I.am.not sure if it covers the Fleetwood BCM Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
rockfangd
I bet it is tripping the vats system. but I can't remember if it kills the starter circuit.. I know it kills fuel. Radio wont shut off because the signal for the door switch(s) is not being seen. Try opening a different door. It sounds like the RAP (retained accessory power) is why it is staying on. You could leave it alone for about 10 minutes to see if it shuts off. Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
Travis Lewis
I can tell it's blue with white stripe, all white, and black with white stripe, possibly another super dark color with white stripe. I wanna fix it soooooo bad. Today I went to the junkyard and got some different wires. I basically cut the wire endings wit plugs from a different bcm...same kinda car same year. I disconnected the wires I was having trouble with and tomorrow I'll start attaching these plugs correctly.

BodybyFisher
Why are the purple and black wires left not connected? You cant figure out where they go? Do you need a schematic? Its frustrating Let me see what I can find. A schematic is a diagram of the wires and how they are connected to the plug pin locations. If we get the correct diagram the 2 wires you have disconnected based on color should be shown where they go.
