outlok
I bought a 2003 Deville with 129k miles in 9/18 that was parked for 2 years. Drove it 8 miles from his driveway to mine. Had no problems starting then one day it did. Read about intermittent starting problems, but mine seems to occur quite often. I turn the key and I get nothing. I've checked the relay by swapping in another. I have 12V at the chassis and engine ground. I've removed and tested the starter. I don't have a security light nor any OBD codes. Thanks in advance... Logan
Can you better describe the 'no crank'? Clicking...slow....nothing....jamming...hydro locked? Any noise at all? CampoCougar
Basic auto diagnosis of the mechanical components first. Rule out the starter and battery. If it clicks, even momentarily, then it may very well be the battery. Hook a voltmeter to the battery and have a helper attempt to crank. If the base voltage really drops during starting attempt, then the battery is dead. If those check out, then maybe bypass the neutral safety switch temporarily. If it then starts, then you found the culprit.
