JasonA
My '97 Seville is getting on to 150,000 miles and I haven't put a single seal on that engine (besides the water pump seal, when I did the water pump). The '95 Nissan truck I sold to my brother had 184k miles on it and didn't leak or use a single drop of oil. And that little 4-cylinder was always spun tight to move that 4x4 truck. The moral of the story is as long as proper maintenance is done (as others have said), you should expect ANY reasonable engine to provide hundreds of thousands of miles of service. The rest of the car is another story. Some cars seem to hold up better than others. Overall, I've been real impressed with how the Seville has held up. Everything on the car is original, including shocks and struts. The only real noticeable deterioration is the rear suspension bushings and the weatherstripping (wind noise).
