BodybyFisher
Can I ask, why not just use the 93/94 Intake? The point I was trying to make is make it as close to a '96 as you can.... Can't do that with an OBD1 PCM that he has modified to work with an L transmission. I suggest using the 93/94 intake I'm not ruling that out as an option but it will have to wait until spring now. It's running beautifully at the moment with just a bit of throttle response to tame, if possible. This is my first dealings with the Northstar motors, it's my understanding that the 93/94 intakes were one piece aluminum and had issues? Was the top cover part of it or separate. I can't even find specific picture when you Google 93/94 Northstar.

Actually I guess there's that too as he has a custom made cover for this thing, not in any of the pictures.
BodybyFisher
No issues as far as I know. Different in their design, the fuel pressure regulator is located inside and vacuum acts directly on it. The ONLY problem that I know of is that IF the FPR is leaking you cant see it leak..... and the phenolic spacers and EGR passages need occasional cleaning. I actually like the way the 93/94 intake looks and it may be a nice match to your CAM cover gaskets. I am glad you tamed the idle down, that was a lot of work.... We are here to help you out when you are ready, I have a 94 manual. BodybyFisher
I still want to share your OBD1 PCM mod knowledge when you get time, I want to learn more about flashing and modifying the bin and tables. OldCadTech
The 93ish cover is part of the intake and cannot be left off. THERE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT - THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB AGAIN !!!

BodybyFisher
93/94 Northstar, notice how the cover comes close to the CAM cover, will it work with your aftermarket cam covers? crackerjacc
I couldn't say looking at the photo but it would be close. Sounds like it would require all new fuel rails and FPR setup etc. I actually checked on the early style FPR for a 93/94 at one point and no one, at least in this city, sells or can get it anymore so it would be a lot of online cross border shopping. (We're in Canada) Not that the owner wouldn't spend the coin but he doesn't like the look of the stock covers so there is no way he would use a stock cover and since it's all one piece in 93/94....... The cover he had made couldn't be modded to fit over. My hands are tied, I just fix what he wants, lol.
BodybyFisher
I get many of my parts from rockauto.com I believe they ship to Canada. You can contact NorthstarPerformance (Jake) for Canadian parts suppliers. Logan
Hhmmm.....more. Anyone notice the intake is flipped? Now it has the throttle body at the chain end of the engine. I wonder if that would work without covering up some magic port....could explain the custom built plate. Wow, you are correct, good catch, I did not see that! Our TB hangs over the flywheel. What are the implications of that? The injector and plug wiring must have been rerouted? My understanding talking to a few other Caddy people is that it's no different than the rear wheel drive caddy's with forward facing motors. The injector wires were routed to the correct location. The Ron Francis harness is pretty idiot proof, lol. The intake apears to be mount no different front to back or reversed as far what I saw when I changed the gaskets and had it out. Doesn't appear to be ports covered if reversed.
