elektradog
The trouble code is P1574, stop lamp circuit. Is the fuse itself the stop lamp circuit or is it another circuit altogether? I've changed the fuse out 5 times, it just keeps blowing out the fuse.
OldCadTech
How often does the fuse blow? The fuse is designed to protect the circuit from overheating and damage to the components in the circuit. There must be a short or possibly a bulb was changed and it is the wrong bulb. Could be a frayed wire or two wires ( power and ground circuit ) touching each other. Are any of the brake lights working? Is the CHMSL ( by the back window ) working? THERE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT - THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB AGAIN !!!
elektradog
The fuse was blowing out every time I stepped on the brake. The taillights ,turn signals were all working properly. It turned out to be the brake pedal switch that is mounted at the top of the pedal, apparently it had shifted position slightly. I removed both switches, reset them properly. Bada boom, bada Bing. Replaced the fuse, everything works great! Thanks for your advice, and a great website!
