ItsAllHype
My girlfriend named it "Simone" and it stuck. Funny story on my old 76 Grand Prix though. She left a note for me one day and said in it: "The Beast has a tail light out" She saw it as I left for the day. And the normal nickname for the car was "Beast", but when I read her note later that night it looked like "Blasto" because she had sloppy hand writing. When I saw the note I called her at her house and said, "What's a Blasto". We laughed so hard that the car became know as "The Blasto". I Think I liked Beast better. gygmy
My wifes 94 red metallic deville was "Scarlet". She really liked "Gone With The Wind". Now the 97 STS is "Archie", named after Nero Wolfe's gumshoe sidekick. Heck, the Silverado is "The Truck". The 72 Catalina covertible's name is a little better, it's "The Cat". Or being formal, "The Big Cat".
WarrenJ
It's just "my baby." Regards, Warren P.S. My white Mark VI was dubbed the "Queen Mary" by my work accomplices; my cousin called it the "Wedding Car." My Mark III was the "Green Machine." It was aqua with a white top (365hp) . My Coupe D'Elegance was the "Blue Boy." I guess you can figure out what color that one was. My yellow Marquis Brougham (black top/interior) was the "Bananna Barge." My maroon Caprice Classic was just "it." My 1,900 or so lb. MGB with the smallblock Chevy mo-go was simply called "Holy$hit!!" There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

I LMAO when I read the Bannana Barge part!! The guys in the next cube are wondering what I was laughing about... I knew this thread was going to be entertaining... Keep 'em coming, this is good stuff! I once had a POS blue Chevy Nova, and called it "Eddie". Anyone catch that... from the Beverly Hills Cop movie?? Except mine was worse than than Axel Folly's. It had indoor-outdoor carpet glued over the entire dash, floors so rusted you would get a fine spray of water if you went thru a puddle, and leaf-springs pushed thru the rotted trunk! The best part was the tired 3 on the column shifter was so worn, you had to get out at every stop-light, go under the hood, and pop it back into 1st gear! STYES
I am not one for naming cars, but I was forced to do so one day, so I guess it is forever named. I was driving with an eccentric friend who broached this subject with me. At the time the song "flying in a blue dream" by Joe Satriani was playing. Since my car is a deep blue, I just told him that my car was 'blue dream" to get him to shut up. The only reason I offer this is because I had no idea that I was traveling much faster than I should have been. Ever since that day, I find myself driving very hard whenever I am listening to songs by this musician. The last time I got a ticket, sure enough, Joe Satriani was playing on the CD. His music is serious driving music, especially on the freeway. Truth be told, when I intend to drive hard, the stereo is off, and I have two hands on the wheel. Flyer
I call mine the "Killer Whale", simply because it is so big, powerful, graceful, smooth and agile, not to the point of being a dolphin (like a smaller car), but it really seems to share the same qualities, at least in my mind. --Flyer '99 'Vert 'Vette 45k '97 SLS 55k Deceased: <'68 Mustang 200+k>, <'86 GMC S-10 180+k>, <'86 VW GTI 180+k>, <'86 Seville 195+k>, <'93 Seville 175+k>
poopdeville
My Mom's 1978 Corvette anniversary two-tone silver was "the Silver Bullet"... my brother's 1992 Olds 98 was the "Silver Sardine"... My 1990 Sedan deVille is known by me as "the old girl" and "the pimp mobile" by my wife... such a true lack of respect for the finest marque of automobile on the road ever.... hmmm, just wondering now if it came down to a choice; which "old girl" would go first... hehehe. Love some of the names here... Mike P

STS Scott
A buddy of mine coined the name of my STS, when being a smart *smurf* one day, as he decided to "Pronounce" STS, instead of just saying "S""T""S". And thus, "THE STUS" For example in context, "Hey, I have an idea. Lets go pick up some broads in the STUS!" Maybe "irresistable" would be more appropriate...lol...
