Electrical Gremlins

Recommended Posts

Greetings, I recently picked up an 89 Eldorado and have been trying to iron out a problem. Somewhere the horn and the cruise control seem to be crossed so whenever cruise control is engaged it blasts the horn. With cruise off everything operates as it should and with the horn relay pulled cruise operates normally. I checked the wiring in the steering column and the fuse boxes but beyond that I'm unsure where the problem may be. Any advice on possible problem areas would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Caddyinfo.

I have to honestly say that is a new one for me. I have not yet heard of that.

Out of curiosity did someone install a alarm or car starter?

May be a crossed wire somewhere under the column.

No car alarm, nor auto start. Dug around a bit under the dash and everything seems pristine other than two plugs that seem to not have a home. May have to pull the cruise module out of the dash and see whats going on deeper inside. There was a mouse nest in the airbox when I bought it so I'd like to say it may be a problem under the hood though everything looks alright at first glance.
