06 cts v manual shifter swap

[CTS V]

I've been doing a ton of research on the T56 six speeds in the V1 cts v. The shifter in mine is wore smooth out and needs a rebuild. I've seen a ton of options on the V1 shifter from several companies and individual fixes. However, I'm looking to upgrade and looking for some answers that I haven't been able to find.

Mainly I am interested in the possibility of swapping the the V2 shifter from a Tremec 6060 to a T56. 

The features I'm looking for and hoping to achieve are shorter throw, a more positive feel moving through the gates, something with shift stops to help preserve shift forks.

the overall feel I'm looking for is something like a Pro 5.0 shifter on a T5 mustang or camaro transmission where it's direct mounted. I know the V cars are remote mounted with a shift rod between the shifter and trans so I know it won't be exactly like the old transmissions. 

Before I start ordering parts for the stock unit I wanted to ask here to see if anyone has tried this or knows if it's been done or if there are better options.

I don't like the looks of this unless the ball can be changed but someone discussed a hurst shifter for the 2004 to 2007

I have seen this one before. While it may be the easiest option I'm very curious about the possibility of using a V2 shifter on the T56. 

Its a completely different design and the feedback about how those shifters worked over the V1 was very positive. They also have a short throw aftermarket upgrade for it that has shift stops made into the base. But have not seen or found anyone that's tried swapping the V2 shifter from a Tremac 6060 to a T56. 

I was hoping to find some information about that swap or if it was even possible.
