BodybyFisher Posted August 19, 2016 Report Share Posted August 19, 2016 A few years ago GM was in trouble because they put all their eggs in the truck and SUV segment, when fuel cost went through the roof they were left holding the bag. In real estate we performed market and demographic analysis to determine where the demand came from and where the shortages were. I imagine that auto manufacturers do a similar analysis. I feel that manufacturers need to have a wide strata of vehicles to cover all eventualities and not lock themselves into any specific segment.
