Marika
Any ideas and suggestions where to purchase a new engine for a 92 Cadillac Seville STS -- Does not have the northstar now....Can one be put in? You would have to look for the Cadillac 4.9 litre engine. You can contact junk yards, look on E-bay as well as other auction houses, and do a general search on the Internet. I don't think you can install the Northstar without having to change the transmission as well. Ironically, sometimes by contacting your car insurance company they can help you find the parts you need. Most car insurance companies have a network of junkyards that have access to computerized data bases that list what's in the junkyard. If you know someone who works at your insurance company or if you're on friendly terms with someone there, they might be able to do a search for what you need. When I needed a fender for my old '66 Chevelle Malibu, a claims adjuster at Allstate put out a national search for the fender. They actually found one out in Arizona somewhere and had it delivered to a local body shop. Was pretty cool. A local body shop or mechanic might also be able to put out a search for you. Give them a try too. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. Scotty
What is wrong with the 4.9 engine that it needs to be replaced? Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once you know where the Northstar is you can point your ship in the right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding ones path in life.

Scotty
Your email to me stated that you had a cracked block and it did not appear that you were loosing a lot of coolant. You might want to try the cooling supplement crush up six and place them in the radiator. Did the mechanic state where the leak was coming from specifically? Scotty
Read this post for supplement info, you have a 4.9 so it can go into your radiator http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...&hl=exaust+flow With the Northstar you have to put the supplement into the upper radiator hose Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. No, you can't transplant a Northstar. Wrong trans and wrong PCM. It would be a nightmare to try. How in the world did you get a cracked block?
