Cadillac Jim Posted August 16, 2016 Report Share Posted August 16, 2016 The 1988 is the first year for the 4.5 liter V8, which is a better design than the 4.1, as well as being 10% larger. The 1987-1988 have better suspensions, with electronically controlled shocks and ABS, and will drive and ride better than the 1986. But the best measure of desirability of a car that old is condition. Get a CarFAX by VIN and have the car looked at by a reputable mechanic, or a service that specifically evaluates used cars for prospective buyers; cost is typically $125 for that service.
