Logan Posted June 12, 2016 Report Share Posted June 12, 2016 If you are revving it in park or neutral....and it's 'farting' above 3000 or 3500 rpm...could be the rev limiter in the PCM. I read 'dies comes back then leaves again' to mean the engine was dying completely but as you point out hitting fuel cutout to protect the engine over-revving at idle fits.
