556393
I AM HAVING OIL WEEP OUT FROM THE OIL LEVEL INDICATOR IN THE OIL PAN, ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE OIL FILTER. IT IS MAKING THE FRAME IN THAT CORNER WET WITH OIL AND A DRIP IS FORMING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME. IS THERE A RUBBER O RING ON THE BACK SIDE OF THIS THING OR IS THERE A HISTORY OF THE OIL INDICATOR WEEPING OIL? ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS PROBLEM. I DON`T HAVE ANY REASON TO THINK THE LEVEL INDICATOR IS NOT WORKING, JUST WEEPING MESSY OIL ON MY NICE `98 ELDORADO. THANKS.
Barry94
Last year mine started leaking as well. It also leaked enough to blow back on the frame and body. I cleaned it and then checked it frequently to see where it was coming from. It actually was coming from the electrical connector, not from where it was threaded into the pan. I didn't try to fix it, I changed the sensor and no more leak. The old sensor had a seal under the nut. It looked similar to the seal on the oil drain plug. Like a metal washer with a rubber seal bonded to the hole in the center. No "O" ring.
