Caddynut
Well, I was on my way to work today in my 92 Seville and had great heat and the fan was working. I soon smelled a little electrical burning and the fan quit. Where on my Seville is the fan located so I can test it? Jan Olsson
If you open the hood you will see a black box in the middle of the firewall. The housing is marked with "cut here" marks. You have to cut it to reach the motor and fan. Haven´t done that myself though. It seems like you´ll need to be tall to reach
Caddynut
Thanks, I gotta work quick and get this darn fan running.....and....I will make sure to get a step stool and a sharp cutting knife....thanks 2008 BMW 328xi 2007 Chrysler Aspen 2001 Cadillac Seville STS 2000 Ford Ranger XLT1998 Mitsubishi Spyder Convertible 1996 Saturn SC-11991 Ford F-1501979 Chevrolet Caprice1968 Ford LTD1965 VW Beetle "Herbie The Love Bug Replica** 1961 VW Beetle
PAUL T
Correct me if I am wrong, but the "cut here" marks are only for when you have to remove the fan. The plugs and fan motor should be visible and accessible. There is also a control module mounted on the duct work beside the fan with 2 plugs going into it. Have you checked all the fuses? That is where I would start.
Caddynut
Unfortunatly...I check the fuse and it is still good. That electrical smell clued me in to the fan motor burning up. Thanks for the help. 2008 BMW 328xi 2007 Chrysler Aspen 2001 Cadillac Seville STS 2000 Ford Ranger XLT1998 Mitsubishi Spyder Convertible 1996 Saturn SC-11991 Ford F-1501979 Chevrolet Caprice1968 Ford LTD1965 VW Beetle "Herbie The Love Bug Replica** 1961 VW Beetle
Ranger
I'm having the same problem. I don't know about the '92 but I ordered a blower motor from gmpartsdirect on the 20th. I later found out it was "special ordered". It was just shipped yesterday (27th) and should be delivered tomorrow (29th), so be advised if you need to order one. Will advise once installed if it solved the problem and how bad the job was.
Devin O'Conor
Don't remove the blower motor yet. It is most likely the blower control module that went bad which on 1992 models is seperate from the blower. This is almost always what burns out rather than the blower itself. On my 1991 DeVille, the blower control module is right under the under hood fuses. I'm not sure if the Seville has the same underhood fuse block or not. K.O.T.
