Bruce Nunnally
Bah, I had misread reports of GM's new investments in an engine plant http://www.auto-report.net/index.html?tonawandav6.html for a new high-value V6 as being for the Premium V6. I heard 3.9L and thought maybe the 3.6L DOHC VVT V6 was getting a power boost for 2006/2007. The new plant is instead for a 3.9L OHV V6 putting out 240 hp. Nice as a replacement for the 3800 which makes 205 hp, or the supercharged 3800, but not a CTS engine. When the current 3.6L VVT V6 premium engine was released, they mentioned that they could go up to 3.8L. I would like to see it at 280-300 hp like the other brands' premium v6's these days. Acura is making 300 hp, Infiniti 280 hp from their DOHC V6s of the same or smaller size than our 3.6L which makes 255 hp. I know, buy a CTS-V for hp, but $20K is a hefty option at my house.
