KHE
Yes, all clear and flowing (purge Line) Was it plugged and not flowing before you cleaned all the gunk out of the system? If so, that could be the cause of the overheating. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
IceCold
I don't think it was clogged at all because when I cleaned it out, water flowed very easy out of the tube and metal line. A lot of junk came out of the lines going to the heater core and radiator. I have the new radiator in the garage ready to install.
IceCold
OK....Found the bolt and it was clog, because after I cleaned it out, the over heating problem gone. Now it seems theirs so much pressure on the top hose it feels like it will pop. After it cool down I opened up the coolant cap and pressure gone. I did have a funky smell coming from the reservoir like escaped gases, but no more boiling or bubbling out. When I test drove it, the heater blew fine the seemed to get a little cold, then blew hot again. It did this about 5 times within 5 miles.
winterset
If you think you smell fumes from the surge tank, now is the time to rent the tester from autozone.
