Hi all, I purchased a 1996 Cadillac Seville SLS several months ago, and the rear bumper chrome trim, is missing on the left and right side of the corners. Anyone have any idea where I can order those parts for cheap? I looked on ebay, but sellers are selling thee entire bumper, which I don't need. Researched several salvage yards online and I don't know if the trim is the right parts, because they have no photo. I've added a photo of a similar car to mine, where it shows the trim I need. I would like thee entire chrome trim, that raps around the bumper itself if that helps. I know I just can't get those parts

A basic problem is that this is part of a rear bumper cover, likely doesn't come separately, and rear bumper covers are the most often needed collision parts. You will likely have to buy the whole bumper cover, which is an expensive part, and you may find that the price is higher than you would like because of the demand for this particular part, new *or* used.

We've identified several sources in the past. You will likely need to buy the bumper cover and possibly paint it if the trim doesn't come separately. I have done business with none of these myself, although I did look very hard for a front stabilizer bar upgrade form my 1997 ETC at one time. Some of these have been pointed out by others on Caddyinfo, some were suggested by others elsewhere. One sells new parts.

The Parts Bin:

Car-Part.com, auto recycling:

GM Parts Direct, a GM dealer with enormous know-how that checks - or finds - parts using your VIN and sells at a discount:

I had several more but the URL had been hijacked by what looked like a shady web site for one of them and I didn't like the look of others. Others will chime in with their favorite recycling yard. A web search for "used Cadillac parts" turned up these:

UNeedAPart.com:

Auto Parts Fair:

Cadillac Heaven, specializing in recycled Cadillac parts:

Junk Yards.net, a recycling yard locator:

Etc.

That is a very sharp seville in your picture. I wish it was yours so you could share some more pictures. I have had decent luck with salvage yards. may sell you the whole bumper and you can use what you need. Maybe the bumper was replaced on yours and it did not come with the chrome trims.

I believe that LionWoods said that he *does* own the 1996 SLS, that he bought it several months ago. Now he wants it 100%

So, LionWoods, how about some nice pictures of your 1996 SLS?

See I ran into an issue with my Seville. The chrome trim by the left front cornering lamp was broken. I figured out how it was installed and removed and managed to get a mint one from my local salvage yard. Actually forgot about it until this thread

See the picture. The chrome that goes across the front of the bumper is separate from the sides, The sides tuck into the center section. I am thinking the rear bumper does the same. The picture was actually taken when I got done replacing it. It drove me nuts til I fixed it.

I'd like to add one more link to Cadillac Jim's list:

I can't tell from Mr/Ms. LionWoods profile just where he lives, but if he is anywhere near PA, this is a good place for parts. They have been in business for years, and I recall from my youth that they also purchased the sheet metal stamping dies from GM's Fisher Body plant in Irwin, PA. and made after market parts for GM vehicles. Of course the Fisher Body plant has likely been closed for years, but it still tells me that Spitz has a special regard for GM parts.

Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
