oregonk5
Working on a 1990 Fleetwood Brougham and I need to replace the driver and passenger door weatherstrip. The weatherstrip is mounted on the door, rather than the body opening. Near as I can tell it is held in place by metal channels on the door and a few plastic clips. It is either glued in or seriously frozen in place and I don't want to start ripping it to pieces. The service manual I have only shows how to replace the pinch molding style that mounts in the door opening. Any advice?
oregonk5
Ok, just took some tenacity. The top and sides are pushed into a channel with a little glue in the corners. The bottom is held in with little push in clips attached to the weatherstrip. Installation was a little bit of a bear. Some soapy water and a putty bone helped ease the new weatherstrip in to the channel.
