Miller88
Hello I'm new to this forum and need some advice! I need to replace the starter on my 93 seville sts and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to go about replacing the starter? Also if anyone knows a cheap place I could get one that would be very helpful! I'm a full time student at the moment and am living off the G.I. bill and dont make much money. Thanks for your time. KHE
Northstar engine? If so - you need to remove the intake manifold to access the starter. It takes about 1/2 hour to remove the intake - there is no coolant to worry about. I think your model will come off with four bolts. While you have the intake out, you can clean the EGR passages and the "mouse holes". I would recommend taking the existing starter to a local rebuilder and having it rebuilt. It will cost much less and will be a much better quality unit vs. chain store auto parts junk.
