02CaddySLS
Just need info about replacing my crankshaft sensor.. I know its bad.. Wanna know if i can fix it myself before taking to the repair shop.. If possible can you inform me what tools I'll need? Where the sensor is located? And the overall difficulty of the job. Thank you!!
Cadillac Jim
The 2002 FSM instructions are to raise the vehicle, remove the air deflector (bottom cover), and oil filter adapter. After that, just R&R the crankshaft sensor(s). Check out the O-ring before replacing the sensor. There is a "Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn" that probably should be done after you change the crank sensor. The FSM tells how to do it with a Tech II, so a trip to the dealer my be in order unless Logan or Mac has a way to do it from the A/C controls. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
