Instead, the Toledo resident spotted a 1940 Cadillac coupe, which he purchased for $5,000. “My wife and I went down a couple of months later and trailered it home,” the retired Cowlitz County traffic engineer said. “It was in pretty bad shape.” With the help of local businesses and his friend Lee Smith, Strange has renovated the vehicle to its former glory.
